Herbs for Immunity & Stress Support

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Psychologists in the field of "psychoneuroimmunology" have shown that the state of mind affects one's state of health. ~American Psychological Association

When practitioners and educators talk about 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, we often refer to multiple systems and aspects of the body and mind. There really isn’t a way to support one body system without referring to and supporting another.

It’s all Connected

So when we ask plants for support we must address more than what is happenig on the surface you must go deeper

Life Scientists, Psychologists and health care providers alike also educate in this manner, however, usually from an after-care POV instead of preventative, but there is still a disconnect on how the public recieved and understands this important point.

It’s like that children’s song, “The leg bone's connected to the knee bone,

The knee bone's connected to the thigh bone,

The thigh bone's connected to the hip bone,

Now shake dem skeleton bones!”

Just as all the bones are connected to make a full functioning skeleton, your muscles, tendons and nerves are what allow you to move them. Along with the tissues and skin that protect them and the heart, brain and their constituents to pump the blood, circulate oxygen and send messages on what movement to perform, because each part requires the support of the other.

So when we ask plants for support we must address more than what is happenig on the surface we must go deeper and discover where else needs support in the body, mind and yes the spirit too.

Look to your easily accessible kitchen herbs, they have phenomenal medicinal qualities

I have compiled a list of herbs a mix of easily accessible kitchen herbs that have phenomenal medicinal qualities and a selection of adaptogen, nervine and other immune supportive herbs that help to navigate imbalances that causes stress and illness. Again, stress compromises the body systems and magnifies illness so its important to have practices in addition to herbal medicine in place to support stress management.
